Who is this?<\/span><\/h3>

I am a mother, wife, sister, and cis daughter raised by a single mother. My mom took me to an evangelical church when I was a fearful 8 year-old asking impossible questions about death and life. At church I prayed the salvation prayer every week, just in case. After college I studied clinical psychology and theology in graduate school, because I feel drawn to the ultimate mysteries of life, like human transformation, sacred connection, and paradox.

I go to Crossfit enough to stay decently fit, but not enough for anyone to know I work out just by looking at me. For the last 9 years I’ve been half-heartedly working on getting my first strict pull up. 

I am an introvert and love taking walks in gardens, but mostly I sit in my office listening to people’s stories.

\n\nThis site is about my personal journey of transformation, sanctification, and actualization. I bring together my reflections on psychology and theology, and how both fields offer support for healing and transcendence. Life is sacred, and I’ve had to deal with a lot of messed up teaching and trauma in order to grow, but have found so much life in faith and therapy. I hope that sharing my journey might offer a sense of community and togetherness for those looking to make sense of life, faith, and healing.

What is this?<\/span><\/h3>

Nothing here is new. Feeling like I needed to say something new in order to say anything at all used to keep me from writing. But then I realized that nothing is new under the sun. God is creator and we are discovering God’s ways. Throughout the years mystics have been paying attention to the sacred in everyday life and studying the complex, beautiful, and tragic lives of people in order to come to a more full understanding of life. Like a choir, I want to add my voice, not because I have something new and unique to say as a soloist, but because I can sing about the same thing as others, in a different note, and it creates a beautiful harmony. I want to be part of the choir singing about the beautiful intersection of God and people. <\/span><\/p> <\/div><\/div>\n \n <\/div>

Because I am a licensed psychologist I am keeping my name private. I want to use this site to share details about my personal life and journey with faith.
